Skater Girl

“Skater Girl” is a 2025 self-directed series, illustrating the female skateboarding experience.

Using fabrication, 3D print, laser cutting and digital illustration, I have produced a set of original skateboard decks, a mini skate shop model, a 42-page zine and a set of 20 mini movable skateboards - targeted at the underrepresented feminal market.

Skater Girl skate shop

Featuring DAZZLE skateboards by Yasmin Akbay

3D modelled, designed and printed mini skate-shop, featuring a clothing rack, “DAZZLE” merch (mini versions of my actual merchandise - hand screen printed, using a custom-illustrated camouflage pattern), skate shoes, mini versions of my zines and a range of original skateboard decks -mounted to the walls like in a real skate shop.

I have produced this with the intent of spreading awareness for the acceptance and inclusion of female skateboarding, as a maquette for an ideal, feminal and “girly” skate shop, which I have never come across before.

This model can also be used as an interactive play-house for children, to push away from classic dollhouses and roll into the world of skateboarding…
